EVENING WORKSHOPS

In addition to our full day cookery classes, we are now also running Evening Workshops for a maximum of 15 students.

Each workshop will have a particular theme and cover the preparation of two or three dishes, often including several variations that can be made from each.

Students arrive at 7.15pm for a glass of wine or soft drink and the class will run from 7.30pm to 9.30pm. Stephen Bulmer will talk you through each dish to be prepared and the group will then work together to prepare the dishes under his supervision, so there’s plenty of opportunity for everyone to get involved in the cooking.

Workshops will run most Thursday evenings and are priced at £45 each. Dates and subjects are listed below, with current availability (updated nightly) shown in the far right column. To book a course, simply click on the date of the workshop you have selected and you will be taken to our reservation page.

If you book a course of 5 workshops at one time (for the same person) you pay just £200, bringing the individual price per workshop down to £40. Just click below on the date for the first workshop you want to attend and list the other four workshops in the additional information box on the reservation page.

Knife Skills – fundamental skills of sharpening, dicing, chopping, slicing, etc

Quick Canapés – tempting morsels for light meals and entertaining

Starters – delicious, light dishes to begin your meal

Meat and Poultry – How to buy well and make the most of various cuts of meat

Game – how to prepare and cook game, including plucking, skinning, sauces and garnishes

Sauces – Light, flavourful sauces including meat, fish and vegetarian

Fish and Shellfish – How to buy, fillet and cook delicious fish and shellfish dishes

Italian – understanding the classics from Antipasti to Zabaglione

Oriental – delicious dishes covering a range of Eastern cuisines

Quick Suppers – Tasty dishes for when you don't have much time to cook

Baking – Biscuits, sponges and cakes for teatime and desserts

Bread – Everyday white and brown, plus a range of variations

Pastry – The secrets of great pastry, so you get it perfect every time

Desserts – Seasonal desserts including soufflés, mousses and charlottes

Chocolate – Tarts, tortes... sheer indulgence!
